You can't program keys or program computers without special access however.īy buying a mongoose VIM cable and paying for a subscription you literally have the exact same system as a technician at your own home. It can also program keys, reflash ECU's, pull TSB's and the repair manual, all from the program itself.
Unlike a Generic Scan tool (let's say a Genesis) that can read parameters and do some things the tech stream is programmed to do all that plus more (mainly active test individual parts like transmission solenoids, VVT-I solenoids, VSV's, injectors, modules, etc.). Basically all Techstream is the proprietary software Toyota uses to access its computers.
